HOLLINGHURST/TOIBIN AT MANCHESTER LITERATURE FESTIVAL

Yesterday was the first event in the 2011 Manchester Literature Festival, which I blogged on for the festival’s own site. Alan Hollinghurst was, of course, somewhat controversially omitted from the Booker shortlist – and Toibin should have won in 2009 for Brooklyn. But the point of the night wasn’t what might have been but their thoughts about and contribution to gay fiction. Here’s the blog in its full glory – good to see the first night packed, too.
