REVIEW: THE WIND IN THE WILLOWS @ LOWRY

Copy: The Stage, 07/12/11

>> First of the seasonal shows last night, and thankfully it was the Library Theatre’s offering. You can always rely on them for a thoughtful, considered festive show, and so it was with a lovely version of Kenneth Grahame’s classic, adapted by Alan Bennett. In fact, it was so considered, one wonders whether the kids will actually find it too slow – although this is a show about the magical friendship between a Toad, a Badger, a Mole and a Rat, so maybe not.

“There is a timeless otherworldliness at play here which borrows from the best pantomime has to offer.”
